I went on the hunt to some find some of the best Relived songs by indie rock artists. It was a lot of fun. I discovered some great music I think you will all love to hear.

1. Starsailor the Britpop rock quartet recently did “Jealous Guy.” They Really do an intimate version of the song and I like it a lot.  To me the John Lennon version is more laidback but I love bringing this song back. 2. On the Black Keys album “Factory. What a cool country rock feel version of the Kinks song “Act nice and gentle.” This is a live performance that I really like. Slowing it down with a cover to the kinks was a good way to break the show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm5j-zflKfI

3. Cold War Kids has a special place in my heart. I saw them live just 4 months after they formed in California. This is a live performance they did in 2007. “Well Well Well,” the John Lennon original song was covered/relived by them with a huge rock sound. I love the personality they give to the song. 4. Baby I’m Yours from one of favorite bands the Artic Monkeys did the original true justice. Barbara Lewis was well known for her smooth style of rhythm and blues. The Monkeys make it an upbeat rock tune to vibe too. Very cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0jR8adohcY

Victor has more than 10 years experience in Media and Internet. Prior to joining Hoodiny, he was the Vice President and Managing Director for Latin America & US Hispanics for MySpace. In this role, Victor oversaw the roll-out of in Latin America and the US Hispanic market, opening offices in Miami, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires. Before MySpace, Victor was VP Strategy and New Media Development for MTV Networks Latin America. In this role, he was responsible for creating the network’s long-term business plans and finding new growth opportunities. He also was responsible for developing New Media revenue opportunities. Kong also held executive posts at Terra Lycos, where he was the Ecommerce Director in the US, Spain and Latin America, and at McKinsey & Company, Booz Allen and Hamilton and Citibank Latin America. A native of Uruguay, Kong holds a Masters in Business Administration with Honors from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Economics and International Relations from Stanford University. Currently, he resides in Miami with his wife and children.

Que Bajo?! is a DJ Collective & Dance Party that consists of DJs Geko Jones (of Dutty Artz) and Uproot Andy (of Zizek, Bersa Discos).

In past years, whenever Latin and electronics met on a project, it was typically down-tempo stuff or too oontz ooontz ooontz for Que Bajo?!‘s taste.

Que Bajo?! has been elevating the bar for dance music by taking influences from Africa, Latin America, & Europe and creating hot slices of a new dance movement they are calling Tropical Bass

What is Que Bajo?!……What does it mean ?????

Que Bajo?! is an outlet for Rare, Unreleased, Obscure Deep Tropical Bass Dance music w/ influences of traditional Afro Latin heat that is fused with the Rhythms and Urban/Electronic Contemporary sounds of Africa and Europe such as Dubstep, Electronica & Kuduro that won’t be heard for another couple of years from now.

Que Bajo?! is also renowned for Uproot Andy’s and Geko Jones’ Original Afro Latin Electronic Productions & Remixes.

Que Bajo?! literally means many things….if u said Que Bajo?! in Puerto Rico, you might be saying whats up. But it can also mean “how low ??? ” as in how low of a person can u be ????   Or it can also mean “how low can u get on the dancefloor” because you will get down and dirty at a Que Bajo?! Party.  However, my favorite is “what Bass ?” as in you’ll never know what type of Bass Que Bajo?! will be cooking up (from which country) as they will make you shake.

Geko Jones

Geko Jones (Pronounced gue-cojones in spanish) originally from Puerto Rico/Colombia via Brooklyn and Uproot Andy originally from Toronto via Brooklyn never realized how similar their taste were since coming from very different backgrounds.

They both met at one of Geko Jones‘ NY Tropical Parties in Brooklyn and realized they were to be destined to start a movement they are now labeling as Tropical Bass.    From Funana to Funky (from London) to Digital Cumbia to Dubstep to Mambo Violento to Garifuna to Kuduro.

When Geko Jones met Uproot Andy, they knew coming together would be a great thing, not just for New York, but for the worldwide Latin and non-Latin club scene.

Combined they have been spurring lots of buzz throughout the East Coast and the West Coast for their explosive Original DJ Sets ranging in fans from true-blue hipsters from Brooklyn to Hardcore Salsa dancers from Washington Heights to Straigh Kwaito Heads from Africa to CEOs to Hood Rats.  They have been breaking barriers and ground by Criss-Crossing scenes ….from hip hop heads to electro heads to salsa and cumbia heads to traditional african music heads all in the same room dancing !!!!!!!!!!

Uproot Andy

They have garnered the attention of Today’s Top Producers and Artists such as Diplo, Toy Selectah, Aterciopelados, Los Amigos Invisibles, Vampire Weekend, Paul Devro, Maluca, BLK JKS, Pacha Massive, Sidestepper, Radioclit, El Guincho, Nguzunguzu, Danger Mouse, Sabo, Nickodemus, Turntable Lab, The Mad Decent Family, Choc Quib Town and the list goes on and on.

Sonic Projects and Paz came together at the beginning of 2009 to produce just a few of his many songs. Paz began playing guitar at the age of 10 and it wasn’t till he turned 24, that he began his journey as a composer.

With over 200 songs already written he decided to formalize and produce some of these songs onto an EP with the talented Juan Cristobal Losada of Sonic Projects Inc. Some of his influences are Fito Paez, Joe Satriani, Silvio Rodriguez, Juan Luis Guerra and Metallica; and it is from these influences that his songs were born.

His songs “are songs from the soul“, songs that try to transmit “tranquility & well being” as Paz himself states. Thats where his name comes from, in that he focuses on the lyrical content to also bring a positive message, a message of peace.
