As a DJ, Stereo 77 is by no means a traditionalist! His DJ sets are a melting pot of multi genre flavors, soaked in Caribbean spices with a heavy dose of dance floor ready Funky Breaks!
In the early 2009, Stereo 77 signed with Research Deluxe Recordings for the release of The Jibaro Beat EP in early summer 2010. The Jibaro Beat EP is a 5 track collection featuring Classic Salsa, Cumbia and Latin Funk inspired grooves! His remix work to date includes artists like Afrodita, Quincy Jointz & Sr. De Funk, Soule Villayn, Sabo, Danny Massure and Tal M. Klein.

Anthony Mansfield has been on a 18-year journey through the world of psychedelic dance music ever since attending the now-legendary full moon massives of San Francisco’ s Wicked Crew in the early 90’s. Anthony spent the rest of the decade in New York, spreading the gospel of deep house across the Empire State with a late-night radio show, his 8-year-running weekly, and the countless underground parties that gave birth to his own crew, Hector Works Soundsystem. After an exhausting and debaucherous 2-year run as GM, talent booker, and resident DJ at upstate’s largest live music venue, The Odyssey, Anthony was ready to return to San Francisco.
Anthony hit the West Coast running in 2001, joining his old friend DJ M3 as resident DJ and co-promoter of the infamous Green Gorilla Lounge in a string of successful weekly club nights, true seat-of-your-pants underground parties, and blowout monthly events across the Bay Area, with some of the city’s and world’s best names in dance music. Anthony has left his mark on Burning Man for the last decade as well, at the Space Lounge, Green Gorilla, and Disco Knights sound camps, with a trail of exhausted dancers and party people in the wake of his many epic sets on the playa.
Anthony has been producing his own particular brand of dance music since his first release on Rong Records in ’04 with Ben Cook as “ Barfly”. Quickly moving to found his own label, Hector Works, in 2005 with NYC deep-house production wizard Nick Chacona, Anthony has worked with Garth, Tal M. Klein, Sneak-E Pete, M3, and others in the last five years, releasing tracks on Gomma, Moodmusic, Aniligital, and Om Records. His tunes have received nods (and plays) from some of the world’ s top DJs, including Dimitri from Paris, Harvey, Greg Wilson, Doc Martin, Idjut Boys, Ivan Smaggle, The Revenge, Pete Herbert, and Playgroup. Camped out in his room at Moulton Studios, Anthony is currently hard at work on the 14th release for Hector Works.

Growing up around the cumber sounds of his family unquestionably laid down the rhythms to his soundtrack. Even with this being true, his musical interests have stretched from Bobby Brown pop to Pennywise punk, Wu hip-hop to Rock en Español. At 15, electronic beats invaded his musical palette, having an affinity towards House music and all it’s guises.

A move to Philly would provide the added dimensions of soulful sounds, old school vinyl, and the rich DJ legacy that continues today. Most recently, Tropical Bass opened up the doors to not only communicate his musical breadth but also entertain his need to express his roots. His TROPICALISMO parties embody just this. Working together with his brothers and guest DJ’s at his events, such as Poirier, DJ/rupture, and Uproot Andy have further expanded his musical range. The pieces all start coming together, not neatly defined, but global in mind.

ETERNALLY. PRODUCING. HISTORY. NEVER. IGNORING. KNOWLEDGE.

EPHNIKO is a bilingual performer, songwriter, recording artist, full-time emcee, part-time producer, and third world HipHop researcher.

Lyrically, EPHNIKO engages his audience with sharp delivery, charismatic stage presence, and a unique musical journey that sets the soundtrack for intricately weaved immigrant narratives and metaphoric tales of the times. His brand of HipHop is rooted in the underground where creativity and originality are valued above sales and publicity. His sound has been compared to Orishas, Beatnuts, Blackstarr, Vico C, and Nas.

EPHNIKO has shared the stage with Bobbito Garcia and Dead Prez in Venezuela, Vico C in Peru, and Immortal Technique in Miami. He hosted the final of the Redbull Batalla De Gallos in Bogotá, Colombia and was a guest performer at the Battle Of The Year in Capetown, South Africa. EPHNIKO performed at the Carnaval Latino in New Orleans, and created MCinema: an audio-visual concert commissioned by the Miami Dade Public Library. In 2008 he joined Guanaco MC and the Pesos Pesados Crew for a successful 8-city tour of Ecuador to promote his solo album release: ESCRIBO LO QUE VIVO. The album is currently circulating throughout Latin America, Europe, and the U.S. and is also available digitally on I-Tunes.

Not only an artist, EPHNIKO is an ethnographer who scored, narrated, and co-produced the multimedia feature, Latin American HipHop, which was published in the Miami Herald online. He is available for lectures, screenings, discussions, and performances. To view his Curriculum Vitae, click here.
